My original plan for today:

Call for a cab to pick me up from WalMart this afternoon. Walk to the bank and do a few errands. Walk to Walmart and the surrounding shopping area. Window shop at the other stores just for fun. Enter WalMart. Purchase food, household necessities, and a few requests from Dav regarding things he didn't want to lug on the plane but will need once he's home. Get change from the mini arcade in WalMart so I can do laundry. Meet the cab. Go home. Do last minute tidying up for Tom's return Wednesday. Relax.

As of late last night, I had every expectation this would be feasible. The weather forecast, even at bedtime, still said we were just supposed to get some light rain this morning, and enjoy mild temperatures all day.

But this morning, I wake up and hear a weather report on the radio stating we're under a winter storm advisory until 6 pm!!!! Mix of cold rain and snow this morning, snow around noon, flurries in the afternoon, and an overall accumulation of 4 to 7 inches expected. High not expected to get above 34 degrees.

>_<

I flicked the vertical blinds aside, and sure enough, it had already started. Way too messy out there to be going as far as Walmart.

Now, granted, tomorrow and Wednesday - <sarcasm]if the meteorologists aren't sadly mistaken again</sarcasm] - it's supposed to be warmer and dry, so the snow will melt in short order. But I work tomorrow and Wednesday. I was really counting on today for that shopping trip. ::gnashes her teeth:: Damn it. I wanted goodies in the house to celebrate Dav's return, and fresh flowers, and a couple things for the kitchen that I keep wanting to buy but never get around to. I wanted to spend a few hours luxuriating in window shopping without a guy along who will get bored. I'm going to have to modify my plans. It doesn't get dark til 6:30 these days, so after work tomorrow I'll walk over to Albertson's and get just the things I absolutely *need*. I've checked the cupboard and fridge. I can live off of what's already in the kitchen just fine for a few more days, even when Dav gets here and starts eating half of every meal I make. ^_^ All I *need* is fresh milk, garbage bags - we just ran out last night, and I still have more garbage to clean out from my personal "paperwork" accumulation; and the stuff Dav requested I buy. That can be easily carried home in a backpack and a single bag in each hand. No sweat - provided the weather co-operates. The laundry change can be acquired when I go to work tomorrow; the base has a laundromat a short walk from my building, and unlike our baka apartment building, it has a change machine. I've been there before. I can deal with it, it's just frustrating. I thought this kind of evil behavior on the part of a month was only exhibited by February, not March. :p

::amused:: At least something good is resulting from my aggravation, then. I'm sure Mary and La Shelberina will be pleased if you can manage to stay in St Louis.
