Well, THAT certainly didn't go as planned

This weekend's overnight getaway, complete with babysitters for the boys, in honor of our 8th anniversary as a couple (Not to be confused with our wedding anniversary) got derailed by me developing gastric distress of such severity Tom had to take me to the ER. I was in VERY rough shape for a while. Severe chills, uncontrollable shaking and shivering, limited mental and verbal capacity, lots of vomiting and diarrhea, extreme suspectibility to the cold when venturing from the hotel to the car to the ER, etc. IV fluids got me stable, and a dissolvable pill got my gastric issues under some semblence of control, but I was unimpressed with the dash of morphine they added to the IV. Made my head hurt.
Finally started feeling good enough around 1 pm today to venture back into the living area of the house and drink some chicken broth. The boys were overjoyed to see me. I've now got some Canada Dry defizzing on the counter, but haven't had anything other than liquids since last night. My head hurts, and I'm weak, but I'm in reasonable command of my faculties, which was decidedly not the case last night.
Tom started feeling like crap, although thankfully seems to not be experiencing gastric issues. I sent him upstairs to take a nap, and have been checking on him periodically. Jack is snoring in a blankie nest on the couch. Mark is watching Dora the Explorer. I rather wish HE would take a nap, but doubt it's going to happen. I'll have to just take it easy for now and get more sleep when the boys are both in bed tonight.
Dinner's probably going to be chicken rice soup for me, the same for Tom or miso soup depending on how he feels, and chicken nuggets for my goofy little Zodlings. Tom reports than our babysitters reported they were good while we were gone, but I suspect there was monkey business. Joyce evidently had to do some emergency laundry for them. ^_^;;
