Ah, dentistry
Apr. 14th, 2011 01:13 pmI have survived my first bout with sedation dentistry and come away with no worse than a lingering sensitivity to cold beverages in my bottom incisors and some tender places along my gums. Also a tiny tender spot on the back of my left hand where the IV went in. \o/ Tom and the Zodlings survived a day and a half of Daddy Regime, although Tom is mildly astonished I can cope with them on a regular basis and not cave in to my soda addiction. (I told him dealing with Zodlings when one is not caffeinated is far preferable to dental care we can barely afford, and less painful. I suspect when finances once again allow, I will be able to get pedicures and snuggling out of this.)
Next week we get to do it again so my cavities can be taken care of. Recovering from the sedatives yesterday afternoon and evening wasn't a lot of fun, but it was bearable. So the only part I'm dreading now is the post-drilling pain, and the IV insertionneedles, why does it always have to be needles.
Now Tom's at a glass repair place to get a nasty chip in Tohru-chan's windshield fixed, and I'm watching Jack and catching up on laundry and webcomics.
Apropos of webcomics, something I found while fretting about my impending dental trip: http://www.bitemecomic.com/?p=582
Bite Me! is short, goofy (as befits something the author admits she started in high school), demented, and absolutely hilarious. :D Highly recommended to anyone interested in that sort of thing.
