Taking the zodlings to the 6 pm Ash Wed. service proved much more pleasant than I expected. The "Tiny Tots Room" turned out to be way more awesome than my cursory glance through the window in the door a couple weeks ago made me think.

They have: Four gliders, two different baby swings, a playpen, a high chair, a jumperoo, and an exersaucer. Also a huge assortment of toys, books, and vhs tapes. The last two categories run heavily to religious topics, of course. They also have two tvs, one for the vcr, and another with a closed circuit feed to a camera in the main church, and a large speaker connected to all the microphones in the main church.

And thanks to the overflow crowd for Ash Wed., there was a nun assigned to the extra seating area just outside, who distributed ashes and Communion wafers. (It had its own cc tv and speakers.) I didn't have to take the boys all the way to the main sanctuary and back for those things.

Jack adored the exersaucer. Mark mostly ran around examining things and nomming the snack I brought for him. They were both really good. :D

Only trouble is...

Mark fell asleep on the way home.

I laid him on the couch initially, thinking he'd wake soon. It's been an hour and a half. ^_^; Jack is in "I will only stay asleep in your arms" mode, so carrying Mark to bed's going to be hard. ^_^;;;; I've tried putting Jack in the playpen three times, and each time he's woken in seconds.

I may have to try soon anyway. My Jack-cuddling arm is falling asleep, and my typing arm is getting achy.

Silly boy needs to be in bed if he's asleep - they both do.

Edit: Success! Jack's in the pack n'play, and Mark's in his bed. (Still in his coat, but his shoes are off and the coat's unbuttoned. When he eventually wakes up, he can wiggle loose easily.) There shouldn't be a problem with the lethargy he had last time he slept through dinner - I gave him a rather bigger than usual lunch just in case, and he had an ample snack at church.
