Welch's has a variety of dried fruit - also produced on machinery that processes products with Mark's allergens in them. Sigh.

Sunmaid has dried apples, and dried peaches, *not* produced on machinery that processes allergens of his.

However, upon being offering some dried apple slices with his usual snack, he promptly flung them on the floor, or tried to - I caught most of them midair, and put them back in the bowl. He flung them back out again.

Yesterday, started rolling his vitamin around in his mouth, then taking it out and attempting to offer it to me. >_<; I declined.

Today I bought some Flintstones' gummy vitamins. He loves gummy fruit chews, although I don't let him have them often.

Treated the gummy vitamin I gave him just now with the same disdain as the dried apples.

Sigh.

How, I ask, how is it that he's the size of most three year olds? And vigorously bouncy to go with it?

At least he still enjoys V8 Fusion juice.

Working on a batch of cookies for [livejournal.com profile] davner's next care package - with white chocolate/milk chocolate swirled chips. Mmmmmm.

Jack's been asleep about an hour. A little early for him, but not worrisome.

Mark on the other hand... I don't know if he's catching something, or going through a growth spurt, or what.

(Cut for length) Saturday...  )

He seemed mostly fine the rest of Sunday, until bed time. He nearly fell asleep in the tub. I ended the bath quickly and got him in bed.

Tonight, he started acting unusually drowsy at only 7 pm. I went upstairs to get his tub ready a little early - and came back down to find him totally asleep on the couch. I carried him upstairs. he woke a tiny bit while getting fresh diaper and pajamas, but fell back asleep soon after I sat down with him in the glider for our bedtime routine.

I don't know what to make of this. Saturday and Sunday, we didn't go to the playground or anywhere else. He should have been full of energy like he usually is when he can't go out to burn it off. Granted, he slept through snacktime and dinner Saturday, so Sunday morning could be chalked up to low blood sugar. Today, only a brief trip to the playground, because of the chill breeze, and a very short trip to KMart. He only went on the swings, instead of tearing around or going on the slide, so he didn't really get too worn out.

It's odd. My best guess is he's about to do a growth spurt. ::shrug:: Haven't noticed any change in appetite, though.

**

Right now, I am trying not to steal too many cookies, and rubbing my hands in anticipation. I ordered several books from Amazon over the weekend, and they shipped today. A beautiful guidebook on famous gardens of Kyoto, For Her Own Good: Two Centuries of the Experts' Advice to Women,, and a couple of Mark's favorite books, our current copies of which have gotten too bedraggled to keep.

Not that I need the physical books to tell him the story anymore. If we ever find ourselves in the middle of a Fahrenheit 451 scenario, my niche among the oral historian hobo network will be children's fiction, albeit of a fairly limited selection. "Skit skat skoodle doot, flip flop flee. Everybody running to the coconut tree..." Aiiiggghhhh... Somebody stop me.... ^_^;

Unfortunately, while this talent is useful for entertaining zodlings in checkout lines or waiting rooms, it's no good for teaching Mark socialization skills or how to read. So, new copies it is.

Also ordered a three-pack of Baggu reusable shopping bags. They're more durable than the cheap ones being sold in the big box stores and the commissary, and much cheaper than a lot of the fancy reusable bags out there. And they fold up small and zip in on themselves. This last feature is crucial - I'm not going to use them if I can't easily fit them in my purse or a storage bin in the car and take them with me shopping.

One three pack seemed like the right amount to experiment with. We'll see how it goes.

Ah, joy. Jack's waking up. ^_^ Later.
