Quick fangirly update.

Neglected to mention it at the time, because I was convulsed in paroxysms of squee-ing, but I broke down and ordered the Pre-web Assortment for Girl Genius. It arrived a week later, and I tore through them all in a couple days. :D

I would go into exhaustive detail, but I still have hopes of conning Dav into becoming equally addicted someday, and thus wish to avoid spoilers. I will say only this:

I was right about the Jagermonsters' sniffing! Gleeeeee-heeeeee-heee-heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Ahem. ::straightens hair::

(Does anyone know how to make those two little accent dots that belong over the 'a' in 'Jagermonsters'? It doesn't look right, somehow, without them.)

Also on the list of things that make dragons flail happily: Goblet of Fire. Very well-visualized movie; Ron was just as adorably horrified about that vile vintage formal robe as I'd pictured in the book. Krum was awfully hot for a sadly underaged character (::sighs over him and Kyo Sohma wistfully::) and did the 'strong silent jock' bit very well without making the character into a total idiot. Ginny's growing up well; and Harry's getting amusingly testosterone-poisoned as he matures. ^_^ Unfortunately, plot-wise, they're heading down a slippery slope where, in order to keep each film from being as long as two Extended Editions of LOTR, they have to slash the plot more and more. They didn't quite slash vital plot to the bone, not yet, but I'm afraid they'll have to for OotP. Too much about Slouch Jr.'s motivations and how he got out of Azkaban to begin with were edited out, just for starters. It's not gotten to the point where only people who read the books can follow along, but... It's close. I'm wondering how much whispered exposition I'll need to give Dav whenever OotP comes out.

Next weekend I'm dragging him to see Narnia. :D Also a book-based movie that he's never read the source material of, sigh, but at least with Narnia the books were short enough that they shouldn't have to cut out too much of the good stuff for length reasons.

All my Christmas shopping's done. ::preen:: All the stuff for my side of the family's been mailed out as of yesterday. Dav's going to mail out our nephew's present sometime this week. He would've done it yesterday, but he didn't have Steph's address with him at the time. Shouldn't be a problem; there's a UPS store right next to my K-Mart; he can drop it off any time. Only things left for *me* to shop for are last-minute ideas for Dav's birthday, and the cats' presents. They need a new perch, and perhaps some new jingly toys. No clue how Dav's list is coming along; he left some time ago for a solo shopping expedition.

I've got a lot of decorating to do around the house this afternoon, so I'd best get to it. ^_^
