Sounds about right to me. Love comes in many forms, so fanfiction about love should also come in many forms - but please, don't go around forcing characters who hate each other into pairings, het or not, because the series doesn't have anyone else to pair them with; and don't make characters who appear to be overwhelmingly straight or gay into something they're not just because you're obsessed with the sexay boy-on-boy (or girlie) sex, or you think that gay people are icky. Write about different characters if it bothers you.
