Gah. Blast. Noi-ghe'taht. Finagle. Belgium. Frack. [Yosemite Sam] Riggumraggumschumiggumshmeggum....[/Yosemite Sam] Mother pus-bucket. Wind in the chimney and fire in the flue.

My life is less than nifty just at present.

For starters, my paycheck is screwed up.

Normally I work eight days in a two week payperiod. However, I expected this paycheck to only have six days of pay on it. I lost one day because the base declared a snow day. I lost a second day because I had issues with my ride to work in Dav's absence.

Not what I like to have happen, but not bad. Six days covers my share of the bills and leaves me a decent amount of money for myself.

Unfortunately, when I got the paystub from my supervisor, Dave, it only had four days worth of hours on it.

My supervisor pointed out we'd gone home early a few times. I retorted that I still ought to have more than 27.5 hours in a two week period. And I should. We never left before 2 pm on any of our early days. So, even if we'd gone home early every day - and we didn't - I should have had 36 hours instead of 27.5.

We went over some of the paperwork from Payroll and the schedule for that period. Payroll seems to think I didn't work the 2nd and the 3rd. >_< For God's sake, everybody in Housekeeping worked on the 2nd, regardless of whether they'd been scheduled! We got hit with checkouts like you would not believe!

There *had* been a few days around that time when I wasn't able to clock in or out properly. Dave had used an override code to enter my hours, but evidently it didn't work.

So, because Payroll has not got its shit together, I am out over a hundred bucks. I will have only 7 dollars and some change left after the bills.

Dave went back to Payroll to explain this and straighten it out. he said he'd try and get the lady in charge to cut me a check for the difference, or maybe see if she'd give me cash, or *something*.

At the end of the day, he said she refused, and would put the missing pay on my next paycheck.

Not nifty.

Not nifty at all.

He'll try talking to her again tomorrow, but I don't think it will do any good. This woman is notorious for not getting award money put on checks when they are due, and screwing up people's checks by two or three hours, and not getting payroll done in time for our direct deposits to be in the bank on holiday weekends.... >_<

Then there is the psychotic nighttime behavior of Callisto the Destroyer. We named that cat entirely too well. No rant; too tired. Maybe tomorrow.

Then there were the issues I had with tomorrow's ride to work. Sgt. Fisher was luckily available to pinch-hit as my driver. No rant; mostly my fault, and anyway I am tired.

Then there's my schedule for this week.

I was supposed to be off today and tomorrow. Dave had me come in today because we were busy and he wanted to make it up to me for the Saturday I missed. He also decided I need to come in tomorrow because we are going to be extremely busy. I don't mind coming in extra days. What I mind is that I am now going to be working a seven day stretch before my next day off.

No, this doesn't mean my next check will be big. I'm still only working one day over par. I'd be happier about the seven days if my check were going to be big.

I tried dropping a hint to Dave about giving me Sat. or Sun. off - then I can be with Dav when he gets back. Didn't work. Dave heartily replied that it's perfectly okay with him if I work seven days in a row, and the same to Jessica when she asked abiut her eight day stretch.

Highly lacking in niftiness all around.
