Well, for once a medically required beverage actually tasted as advertised. ^_^ The glucose drink really *did* taste like flat orange soda. Not something I'd ever choose to drink, but definitely easy to get down in the required five minutes.

Then I went back to the WHC for the actual exam. Took fifteen minutes. Fundal height right on target. My weight's also right on target. Blood pressure still normal. Mark's heartbeat is right in line with his developmental age.

Talked to Maj. Leuendorf about the lightheaded-ness, wobblyness, headaches, and other symptoms I've been having at work lately. She said that, while annoying and unpleasant, they weren't anything dangerous, and to keep drinking lots of water and try not to be on my feet too much. Which is what I've been doing, and it hasn't helped make me feel much better. ::sigh:: But she was confident enough in her reassurances that I was fine, that I'm not sure if I should hand in my two weeks' notice at the end of this week like I'd been considering.

I was planning on quitting at the end of Aug., originally, so I'd have the month before Mark's birth to do last minute preparations and be able to go to the WHC for the weekly appointments without having to juggle my work schedule. My symptoms of late and the desire to have my time free for things like birthing classes and parenting classes have been making me consider moving that up to the end of this month. I'll talk it over with Dav when he gets back from TDY.

Back to the waiting room outside the lab until an hour had passed since I finished the glucose beverage. The techs had forbidden me from eating anything, or drinking anything but water, until the blood draw; and urged me to stay in the hospital area during that hour in case the beverage gave me any side effects. (Nausea, headaches, and mild vomiting were listed on the bottle.)

Clutched Tai Shan; usual unpleasantness with needles - although greatly mitigated by the skill of the lab techs, I love those guys; and out in five minutes. They'll call me if there's any abnormalities. BX food court for lunch, and then home.

Callisto came within an inch of a successful escape attempt when I came home. Little baka. I had to clutch frantically at the base of his tail while I tried to drop my purse and the mail to free up my other hand. He gave me the most outraged look over his shoulder. "Unhand me this instant, Food Guy's Female!" Scooped him up, smacked his rump, and got everything inside before I dropped him unceremoniously on the carpet. He was not pleased at all. Refused to snuggle up against me, unlike Amara. She of course was not only her usual begging-for-affection self, but was clearly taking advantage of Callisto being miffed at me so she could get his share too. ^_^ After she'd had her fill Callisto decided he was ready to make up, and we had a nice long snuggle.

Then I took a short nap. Probably going to head out to K-Mart in a bit; I have things to get for the fridge and house. Or I might take another nap. That glucose beverage, while not cuasing actual nausea, is still making my stomach feel faintly uncomfortable. We'll see.

It sounds like you're doing pretty well, all told. Or has little Marcus started craving pickles and ice cream yet? :P

Nah. Nothing that wierd yet, although I've been jonesing for some sushi for months. ;_; Also for that new flavor of Dr. Pepper, the berries and cream stuff. I stole a sip from a 20 oz Dav bought a while back. It was sooooo good.

Unfortunately both are things I'm really not supposed to be eating right now. (Yes, Steph, I know a little caffeine won't hurt Mark. But you really have no concept of how much soda I would happily consume in a single day if I let myself. It's easier to just restrict myself to one caffeine free can a day.)

LOL Oh, I know...I just didn't want you to feel guilty about it, that's all...Bobby used to make me feel so bad if I had any caffene, I used to have to sneek it. :)

I remember that glucose test.... :( Shit almost made me throw up!

I remember having those same pains and you do forget ALL about them once the baby is born. :) By that time your thinking about all the other painful things! lol jk...you forget all about those too. Just make sure you don't lie on your back...they make a really good body pillow at babies r us that curves around you so you can have part to support your back, part for your head and part for inbetween your legs.

Well, I'm off to my doc appt now...I'll talk to you later!
