I don't know which I love more: the Teen Titans reruns I've been watching lately, or the lovely DVR from Cox Cable that enables me to watch them along with so many other shows. :D I used to make fun of Dav for enjoying this show, but I must now apologize. I am hooked.

Starfire in particular is adorable. She's like an extraterrestrial Sylphiel sometimes. ^_^ And so damn cute! Particularly when she's all giddy over Robin, or in a righteous rage because a villain's daughter is blackmailing Robin into taking said daughter to prom, or proving that she does so too understand Earth social customs. A prime example is the recorded episode I saw a little while ago.

Robin: Um, Starfire, on Earth, a girlfriend means, um...... er.....
Starfire, a tad frostily: A female with whom you have a pleasant and special association, including the sharing of enjoyable recreation, and occasionally the buying of bountiful floral arrangements.

Damn I love this girl! ^_^ (You hear that, Davner-tan? "The buying of bountiful floral arrangements." ::watches the clue-truck run him over a few times::) She's at her best in the aforementioned prom episode, defending 'her boy' from Kitten and Kitten's creepy boyfriend, and frankly, if that boy breaks her heart, I will be writing scary fangirl hatemail to Cartoon Network.

Granted, she can also be a little scary... A few days ago there was an episode where Robin went off on a Quest to find the Ultimate Martial Arts Master (Yes, all those capital letters are necessary. Shut up, my inner grammar and punctuation gestapo) . Starfire was drooping about the Tower in a most adorable and heartrending fashion, when suddenly she hears noises from Robin's room. Overjoyed to think he's returned, she bursts in - to find Beastboy dressed in one of Robin's spare uniforms. BB persuades her to join him in dressing up as Robin and pretending to *be* Robin. @_@ Much brain breakage ensued.

Now, back to attacking the wilder depths of our closets. I keep expecting to run across a stray relative of Mr. Tumnus or perhaps that scary giant pink monster from Binkley's Anxiety Closet back in the 80's..... Damn I miss Bloom County. The local paper has the new Sundays-only comic by Berke Breathed, which is good, but not as great as I fondly remember Bloom County to have been.

Hm. Maybe that'll be my next monthly splurge, buying up old copies of the Bloom County books online. This month's was the Girl Genius Pre-Web Assortment. ::wide madly-scientific grin:: Should be here within a week - or considering this week is Thanksgiving, maybe early December.

With any luck, Dav will be back from deer hunting tomorrow. Or Tuesday, if he ends up sticking to his original plan. He called me a few days ago, saying he was thinking of returning early because the Missouri weather had taken a turn for the worse, but he was vague about whether he'd actually do it; and I haven't heard from him since. Tried calling his parents' house last night a couple times, but no answer. Sigh. Ah well. If he doesn't come home til Tuesday it'll give me more time to perpetrate miracles around the house, and to eat more of the food in the freezer. If he brings home the 70 lbs of venison he estimated his deer would produce after butchering, we'll need every scrap of space we can get.

I still don't know how we're going to fit all the venison *and* my poor 12 lb turkey in there, even if that's the only other item in the freezer. Dearie dearie me....
