On a less political note

sethrakGod damn I am tired today. I slept very very poorly, despite taking to bed several hours earlier than normal.
Yesterday I tried taking the boys to their doctor to get the nasty persistent bleeding rash on their feet looked at. Got both boys appts. with Tricare with little trouble, but then the clinic pre-empted the appt. and cancelled it without explaining to Tricare (who called me, all confused, and offered me a 24-hour-long referral to any urgent care center in the area that takes Tricare) or calling me themselves. Tricare also offered to reschedule us for the next avail. opening at the clinic - on Dec. 5th. Sigh. I accepted the referral.
But upon further reflection, I assumed this was the clinic cancelling just one of the appts, since they customarily see siblings with identical symptoms at the same time when at all possible, thus freeing up slots for other patients. So we went to the regularly scheduled appt. anyway. When I got to the clinic, I found out I was wrong. They explained that Dr. Flather is out sick and they don't have enough open slots with the other doctors for all her patients, so they expected Tricare to call me and simply reschedule.
The trip to urgent care was long and dull, despite being the only patients in the waiting room the entire time until we got called to an exam room, but it could have been worse. The boys have athlete's foot, nothing weird or tricky to treat at all. We're going to go get the prescribed cream after lunch; the pharmacy was closed by the time we got out of urgent care. I'm not looking forward to it. Civilian prescriptions can only be filled at the satellite pharmacy in the BX/Comissary complex - which is RIGHT next door to the base barber shop where we customarily take Mark. The mere sight of a barber pole freaks this boy out. >_< Joy.
But we have health care coverage and a really easy issue to treat this time, so I am grateful. Just so damn tired.
