Blood pressure question
Dec. 17th, 2010 10:41 amAt my doctor appt. two days ago, I got the nurse to tell me my BP, rather than just scribbling it down and scampering away as they so often do.
120 over 80. I had no idea if this was ok, bad, or inbetween, so I asked. "Oh, don't worry, ma'am, it's fine!" she chirped.
WebMD, however, says it's at the low end of prehypertension.
We're already trying to keep as much of our diet as possible consisting of food with three grams or less of total fat, and 1.5 grams or less of sat. fat, because of Davner being told he has borderline high blood pressure. We also try to eat lower sodium foods, and season with Mrs. Dash rather than salt when possible. (Soda thus far is ruled as "doesn't count". ::cough::) We use Benecol and Earth's Balance vegan version, because they're Mark-safe, and because Benecol is supposed to aid in heart health.
Any suggestions? Anybody have anecdotal or professional reasons to suggest I call my doctor and get after them on this?
