Radio Semi-silence starting now.
Nov. 10th, 2010 08:05 pmWe're off in the morning.
The trip will be about two days. My in-laws have recently acquired highspeed internet, but I suspect my opportunities for logging on will be short and intermittent.
The car's fully packed, but we were unable to finagle the collapsed playpen in, no matter how we tried to Tetris it. ::grump:: Jack's too big to use it as other than a traveling crib, but it would have made nights a lot easier. Now we'll have two little boys wandering around trying to escape their beds and the bedroom, and tussling as a result, instead of one wandering and one semi-corralled. We'll definitely have to take shifts staying in the bedroom til they go to sleep, to keep things civilized. And we couldn't fit in the umbrella stroller, which was going to serve as Jack's travel highchair. Eh. Dav says it's just twenty bucks, we can get one at Walmart in Piedmont and have his mother give it to a friend after we leave.
We really need to upgrade either the truck or the Civic before we make another long trip. Dav says it would also help if I'd learn to drive freeways, so we could take both cars instead. But fixing that issue is going to be neither swift nor easy. Right now we're planning to replace the truck with a four door truck in 2012, and not make any lengthy road trips in 2011.
I've got all the kids' stuff ready to go. Shame I can't bring more of their own toys, but I suspect Gramma will fix that if given the chance. ^_^ She won't be getting to see them for Christmas, after all.
I'm heading to bed. ::yawn:: We're getting up at 4 am. Try not to destroy the Internet while I'm gone.
