Hey, F-list!

I didn't watch the SOTU last night, as watching such things elevates [livejournal.com profile] davner's blood pressure in an unhealthy manner, and our new time zone means such things run afoul of the Zodling Patrol's Bedtime Bonanza.

I'm currently skimming the transcript at whitehouse.gov, and would appreciate reccs for commentary/analysis, from both sides of the aisle. Frothy railing from the right and overly enthused gushing from the left, not so much. But good commentary would be deeply appreciated.

In particular, source material for this bit: "Because of the steps we took, there are about two million Americans working right now who would otherwise be unemployed. (Applause.) Two hundred thousand work in construction and clean energy; 300,000 are teachers and other education workers. Tens of thousands are cops, firefighters, correctional officers, first responders. (Applause.) And we're on track to add another one and a half million jobs to this total by the end of the year." It makes me want to slap a wiki-style 'Citation needed' on it. ^_^ Sadly, the White House does not allow that sort of editing.

Thanks guys.

Check this out: http://www.recovery.gov/Pages/home.aspx

That site does have a great deal of information. Job numbers are reported by the recipient of they money. It is still hard to track exactly how many, as apparently at some point the reported numbers were changed to "funded by the stimulus" instead of "created/saved by"

Also a non-government source tracking the stimulus money: http://www.recovery.org/for_taxpayers.aspx

Course this company runs such things as a government contract database, so it's not like they're a fully neutral party.
