Nov. 4th, 2009 11:25 amYeah, today is basically made of fail. I had such high hopes for it, too, when plotting my schedule as I was falling asleep last night.
But no. Instead I'm afflicted with enough ick that I'm letting Jack watch entirely too much Backyardigans so I can get the peace I need. Mommy's not up to romping today.
And instead of taking the first baby steps of the deep clean and organize project that needs to be done before we move in January - less than two months away!!! - I am sweating like crazy, sipping lots and lots of water, and waiting on my chicken soup to heat. Oh, and knocking over glasses of juice on the stove top, necessitating lifting the lid and cleaning under the burners, lest we have a fire later tonight when the fish fillets are baking.
Also: Creigh Deeds, I didn't expect you to win last night. But to do so badly that the AP declared it for you an hour after polls closed? And to lose most of north Virginia? Really?
I mean, come on. Any Democratic candidate worth his salt should have carried at least one or two of the precincts in mid-Newport News, not just the south end and a few strays up north. (One of which, hilariously, is labeled as "Multiple crimes" on mouse-over.) As it is, you only won this city by .49%, and for a Dem in this city, that speaks of lousy campaigning. http://hamptonroads.com/newsdata/election/2009/results/locality/newport-news/race/governor
I sincerely hope the Democratic Party in Colorado is less prone to fail than this.
