Rescued high-quality images from Lunar Orbiter 1, back in 1966, slowly being restored via jury-rigged obsolete data tapes and drive readers:

I am amazed and delighted that they were able to get those machines running again. ^_^ And delighted that Ms. Evans' determination paid off.

Can't wait til they eventually digitize the images and release them to the public. :D

(Edited for century fail. ::smacks fingers:: There were no lunar orbiters in eighteensixty-six, except in steampunk novels! )
