I feel like I'm shouting into the void sometimes, but I'll repeat it as often as necessary.

Pre-eclampsia: http://www.preeclampsia.org/FAQ.asp#twelve

Depending on just how early in the pregnancy, or how severe symptoms present themselves, bedrest and medication may not suffice.

There is NOTHING that can save an ectopic pregnancy. NOTHING.

These are reasons, though not the only ones, why abortion is necessary.

These are reasons, though not the only ones, why so-called 'conscience clauses' are bullshit and ought to be illegal.

These are reasons, though sure as HELL not the only ones, that I am appalled at the actions of a nurse who 'accidentally' yanked out a patient's IUD, when said patient had only come in for trimming of the strings, and then tried proselytizing to her victim about how it was actually a good thing that the IUD had been forcibly and non-consensually removed. http://www.feministing.com/archives/013203.html

I sincerely pray Obama will work to correct the recently formalized HHS conscience clause rules, and will further the cause of women's rights in general.

On behalf of my profession, I apologize. We're not all idiots, I swear. And the woman sounds like a prime one.

Nursing is one of the few fields today that is wide open in terms of jobs. And I mean WIDE OPEN - even in this economy, hospitals are offering sign-on bonuses ranging in the several of thousands of dollars to qualified RNs.

Good grief, any nurse that doesn't like any particular branch of nursing can walk out and get a new job the very next day in a different part of the profession. Though with an idiot like that one, she'd probably pull something equally stupid, insulting, and unethical in any area she worked. I sincerely hope her state board yanks her license and HARD. We don't need her, shortage or no. Whatever happened to respect for the people you treat and take care of, the very definition of what it is to be a 'nurse'?

I'm disgusted, and I'm completely with you on this one.

I am very very glad there are good and ethical nurses like you out there. I want to believe you're the majority, I really do.
