Update on Granpa
Nov. 10th, 2008 05:02 pmGot a call from my eldest little brother. He'd been called by Mom, who had fresh news for him: Granpa's not conscious. He's 90. This is far from good.
He and our youngest brother, who he'd just called with the news, are making plans for obtaining leave when they need it.
I'm a little jealous. Odds are high I won't be able to go if and when something happens. Quite apart from the cost of a ticket,
davner would need to take leave and watch the kids here for a couple days. Or, Dav take leave, the four of us make a two day trip each way, stay in a hotel, and Dav stay behind with the kids at the hotel while I attend services... No, that's even more expensive, and a logistical nightmare to boot.
Damn it.
Still praying.

Date: 2008-11-11 10:12 pm (UTC)I'm so sorry, sweetie.
JTLY, I got your email but the crazy weekend I had didn't give me much time to do anything. Pop-Pop was basically irreligious -- he believed, but I don't think it was in any particular denomination.
Meanwhile, my darling spawn spent the whole weekend with the gastric plague.
