Quick notes
Jul. 1st, 2008 03:44 pmSgt. King, the main Patient Advocate, at first thought I was calling again about the gestational diabetes issue. Once I explained, she agreed things were getting screwed up, and if at all possible, they might be able to switch my primary care manager or at least see to it I get schedule for the same person every time until I deliver. However, she said I need to deal directly with Maj. Balser, the WHC's PA, to get that done. If Maj. Balser will not co-operate or otherwise does not assist me to my satisfaction, I am to call Sgt. King again and she will escalate the issue.
(I'm still trying to figure out how a sargeant is in a position of authority over a major... but then, I never have understood how the WHC also has nurses and midwives who are officers.)
Called the number that Sgt. King gave me for Maj. Balser. No answer or answering machine. Am calling again in a little bit.

Mark is making a lot of progress with the fork. :D Not so much with the spoon... I need to find a website or book on beginner foods and pare out any potential allergens from the recipes. Right now, his lunch tends to be strained baby meat, crackers, and diced Del Monte fruit, with soy milk and juice. I'd really like to get him away from the baby meat on general principles, and it also seems to be way too soupy for him to handle well with the spoon, which frustrates him deeply. He *wants* to try with the spoon, I can tell.
My first thought, spaghettios or the home-made equivalent, are out because noodles have egg. ::sigh: Yogurt, even soy yogurt, has milk, obviously. Maybe I should try browned ground beef or turkey? Hmmm. It bears thinking on.
Edit: Called again, still no answer or machine. Am nearing end of duty day; will try again tomorrow. Worst case scenario, I call Sgt. King back, and while we wait on that, I do another urine test and have to argue with a fresh doctor on Thursday about what it may or may not mean. I hope it won't come to that.
