Jan. 10th, 2012 03:40 pmI started out having a pretty good day. The boys were good all morning, and were well-behaved and cooperative for the in-home visit from the school district occupational therapists. They polished off their lunches without any trouble. Mark freaked out a bit when Jack's bus arrived, but he's been doing that all school year, and he started calming down as soon as his own bus arrived, which he's also been doing all year. I went out to lunch with Tom, dropped him off at NORAD, and went home for a nap.
Then at a quarter to two, I got a call from Mark's teacher.
He'd hit several students, shoved his teacher into a chair, and scratched another student hard enough to draw blood. The latter incident required a formal written note from his teacher, which she was calling to tell me to expect in his backpack. If further incidents requiring formal notes occur, it may escalate to requiring the official notice and involvement of one of the school administrators.
Damn it.
I do NOT want my sweet boy turning into the class thug. >_<
About the only good thing to come from that phone call was confirmation that Mark's ABA therapist has received permission to do an in-class observation session, and will be doing so Thursday afternoon. Hopefully she can make some suggestions on what can be done differently to prevent further outbreaks from Mark. >_
