Mar. 1st, 2011 04:00 pmThis afternoon started off well. Jack did well at therapy, and cleanup was easier than usual.
Then half an hour later, he had himself a Mark-sized diaper blowout while sitting on the coffee table watching Backyardigans. (I was in the bathroom; he knows perfectly well he's not supposed to sit on the coffee table, or be less than an inch from the tv screen.)
By the time the aftermath was dealt with, it was time to get Mark from the bus. Jack cried himself to sleep on my lap shortly thereafter. As far as I can tell, it was a bad mood brought on by being sleepy, not anything particularly wrong with him.
He's tucked in bed. Most of the windows are open to air out the smell; thank goodness it's a lovely day. Emergency laundry is chugging away. Mark's watching tv. And I am petitioning Tom to bring home the ingredients for BLTs. I deserve a treat, and I'd rather not completely ruin my efforts to eat healthy by sending him to Culver's.
(Don't look at me like that. Turkey bacon, or well-drained real bacon, is healthier than the delectable but sadly grease-laden fare at Culver's.)
About the only thing keeping me from cracking open a well-earned Dr. pepper is that it's after four, and I will never be able to sleep if I do so. I settled for a well-earned A&W instead.
