Mar. 9th, 2007 01:18 pmWell, the three hour trip to the pediatric dermatologist ended in a fifteen minute visit. ^_^;;
All Dr. Sheinbein said was to keep doing what we are doing - apply vaseline regularly, and the hydrocortisone ointment twice a day, etc. He did ask if Mark gets redder or puffier after his occasional bottles of formula, but since he doesn't, there's no change to be made in his diet. (Mostly breastmilk, bottles of formula when that's more convenient.) He might have gone into more detail, but we'll never know. Marcus took one look at the resident, who came in before the doctor, and because shrieking in mortal terror. Actual tears coming from his eyes, which never happens. The whole nine yards. Didn't stop until we'd left the office. I tried to explain to the rather perplexed doctor and resident that it was because last time Mark saw a man in a medical coat, he'd gotten his shots, but they didn't seem to understand. They kept repeating that last time he'd visited *there*, all he'd gotten was some petroleum jelly on his face. Bakas. ^_^
The important thing is, he's doing well. :D Maybe by the time full summer hits, he'll be entirely well.
We've recently started him on rice cereal. ^_^ I was going to wait until he turned six months old, but he was staring so darn intently at me and my mil when we were eating our morning cereal one day, we decided to go ahead and give him his first bowl. (Previously, we'd been giving it to him heavily diluted with formula, in a bottle before bedtime, so we had a box on hand.) He loved it. Took to it like an old pro - at least the first time. ^_^;; The last couple of feedings, he's been dribbling out more than he takes in. But it's a work in progress. He'll get better. Possibly all he needs is a babysized spoon; we've been using our regular spoons so far.
Not much else new at present. I'd love to post baby pictures, but we don't have access to a scanner. I'll make Dav upload some photos to his journal we he gets that photo CD we sent him.
