Or so I discovered this morning.

He brought me his (discarded from breakfast and entirely empty) sippy cup around 8:30, a time when he normally does not get milk or juice. I smiled, told him no, and put the cup on the desk. He squalled, ran off.... and then grabbed the cup from the desk and insistently put it in my lap. This repeated several times.

He was obviously thirsty. So I thought it might be a great time to introduce him to water. Went into the kitchen, rinsed the cup, and poured him around 6 oz. from the filter pitcher.

Mark was very excited as I gave him the sippy.

This lasted about as long as it took for him to take a drink.

Oh, the look of betrayal and shock on his face. "Mommmmmmmyyyyy! What tasteless poison are you foisting on me?!"

He then flung the cup to the floor and ran off squalling.

Came back several times to try again, evidently hoping for a non-alcoholic re-enactment of the Wedding at Cana, or at least that Mommy would come to her senses and give him a *real* drink. Nope. Mommy was hoping he'd get used to it after a bit, and anyway, too much juice is not good for him.

Repeat the looks of betrayal and flinging of sippy to floor.

A few times he tried bringing me the cup, rather than fling it down, perhaps thinking a direct appeal would change Mommy's mind. I sipped from the cup myself, and gave him a big smile, saying "mmmm!". He thought seeing Mommy drink from his cup was hilarious. But he still did not warm up to the water's taste.

Eventually he gave up, and sulked as best he could while watching PBS with rapt attention at the same time. ^_^

Not long after that, it was 10 am, and snack time. He clearly thought Mommy had regained sanity. ^_^ So cute.

Try adding a little bit of the crystal lite pouches or tang...it's really low in sugar (lower than juice) and the tang actually has vitamins in it. I used that for a while with Aiden and he really liked it. It may help him get adjusted to the water, or if anything, get him to DRINK the water...it'll just be flavored. :)
