Pardon the fangirl Japanese.

Sigh. Once upon a time, when [livejournal.com profile] davner led a more dreary and, let's face it, a more-lacking-in-me life, he had this theory that the month of February was out to get him. Everything horrible seemed more likely to happen to him in February, to the point where he threatened to make an anti-February bunker and hide til the month was over. (Stocked liberally with hentai and Smirnoff ice, I have no doubt. ^_- )

He's since renounced this theory, in no small part I think because our first date was February 8th, 2003.

I, after today, may revive the practice. >_<

Spent a large chunk of Mark's nap time tidying the kitchen. I had it looking quite spiffy, if I do say so myself. Then I started some laundry, and a while after that Mark woke up.

When load two was in the spin cycle, I heard Mark squealing. "Mommy, a mean old chair sucked me into its legs, much like Old Man Willow gobbled up the hobbits. Make it stooopppppp!" was the rough translation. Extricated one toddler from one fearsome dinette chair.

Heard splashing. Turned to see the kitchen sink, to which the portable washing machine was attached, was overflowing. (Had a brief flashback to that Girl Genius comic involving Bill Heterodyne's Ocean In A Bottle. "What's that?" "Truth in advertising!") Water across the counters on either side, water all over the floor....Leapt for the garbage disposal switch, in hopes it would help speed up the drainage. Thank God it worked. >_<;;;

Removed protesting toddler from the puddles he was avidly attempting to splash in (and lick up! >_< stopped him in time though) and tossed him in the playpen so I could clean up. Much swearing from me and tantrumming from the playpen ensued.

Wrote an irate/despondent email to Dav and then started putting things back where they belonged. Didn't get very far before Dav called to check on me. He asked a few questions, calmed me down, and then had to get back to work.

I went back into the kitchen for something or other, and noticed water dripping from under the door to the cabinet beneath the sink.

Said door does not close tight. (We have a baby gate in the kitchen doorway to keep Mark out of there.) Water evidently splashed through the gap between door and cabinet on its way to the kitchen floor, soaking the contents to a quarter inch up.

Joy. Such joy.

Got all *that* cleaned up, but the wood on the bottom of the cabinet is still dampish, so I can't put the stuff back in there, or tidy up the other counters, which never got put back to normal after the flood because of the cabinet clean-up.

I sent a second email to my beloved husband requesting and requiring he bring home strawberry cheesecake flavor ice cream or perhaps pie.

Next week I go to the dentist for the first time in four years.

Week after that, Mark gets his first dental visit.

February no baka. I'm glad we're celebrating our anniversary this Friday, because otherwise I'd say let's just skip straight to March and ignore this month altogether.
