Well, the attempts to introduce more fruits into Marcus' diet, as well as the attempt to teach him about lunch, have not gone too well this week.

I have the first baby I've ever heard of who doesn't like strained bananas. @_@ Seriously. I didn't even get as far with the bananas today as I did with the pears yesterday. The very first spoonful of bananas elicited a screwed up mouth and very definite "Ewwwwwww" reaction. By the third spoonful, he was refusing to open up his lips even a smidge. At least the pears took five spoonfuls before he refused to eat.

He did like the peaches I offered him last week at the barbecue Tom's office threw for the CO's farewell/transfer. I'll keep trying. Tomorrow will be applesauce - something else my odd little boy has previously disliked, but I'm hoping more tries will er, bear fruit.

Tomorrow will be applesauce - something else my odd little boy has previously disliked, but I'm hoping more tries will er, bear fruit. <_< If he still doesn't like applesauce by the time he's a year old, I'm going to blame it on those peculiar Doscher genes. ^_^

At the moment, he's snoozing in the new swing. His old swing, a portable and highly reclining one, was left behind in Missouri because we lacked room in Tohru-chan for everything, and he seemed to be outgrowing it, both in size and development. But this swing, which we got used from a co-worker of Davner's, is larger, has music and light functions, a tray with removable toys, and doesn't recline as far as the old one did. He seems to love it as much as he loved the old one when he was tiny. I'm grateful; he's been a bear about napping the last couple days, and anything that buys me a little uninterrupted time when I can do some chores and play online, without keeping an ear cocked for "I am an abandoned little boy! Woe is me! Calamity and deepest woe!" noises from upstairs, is a godsend.

For example, I was just able to finish making some Suddenly Salad for tonight's dinner. How does one boil noodles for pasta salad in one room while working online in another? In part, by adjusting the water and heat levels so the pot doesn't boil over. What a unique concept. ^_- The person that's directed at will know precisely whom I mean.

Next, I need to make a couple phone calls for dr. appointments. Thanks to the lovely new cable modem we just got, I can do that without closing the window I was using to catch up on webcomics. :D I love this cable modem...

Aw, crap.

He woke up. >_<

Maybe he'll catnap later..... >_<
