More sticker shock

Well, my plot to fly out to VA with Mark to surprise Dav after he gets back from his deployment this spring has bitten the dust. One way ticket from nearest airport to his parents, to the NN airport, on a Tuesday? $262 for me, and $131 for Mark-chan. Not including taxes and fees. Too rich for my blood.

At least they do give a discount for infants in seats.... Not enough of one in my tight-fisted and slightly broke opinion, but at least there is one.

(Imagined conversation:

Dav: Kim-chan, setting aside the cost, how did you propose to get Tohru-chan and all your stuff from Mom and Dad's place to our house?
Me: Um... Your mom did mention wanting to drive out here this spring to visit...
Dav: Kim-chan...
Me: ::hangs head:: Well, by that point in your deployment I'm going to miss you terribly, and not want to wait the two weeks it'll take for you to finish inprocessing after you return so you can take leave and come fetch us...
Dav: Kim-chan...
Me: Hai, hai, forget I mentioned it. ^_^

On a more practical note, perhaps Debbie and I can pack up Tohru-chan and drive cross-country with Mark so we don't have to wait those two weeks for his inprocessing...



Now, back to housecleaning.
