Poli-sci geekitude :D
Nov. 7th, 2006 10:31 amSometime between 9 and 9:30 am, I was voter 260 at my polling place. :D Mark-chan has been officially introduced to the democratic process, at the tender age of one month. I'm so proud. :D
A little less proud, though not terribly surprised, to see only two or three road signs for Webb at the grassy island just outside the 'no campaign materials' limit outside the school where I vote, and none for um, what's his name running against Jo Ann Davis (what can I say? He ran a lacklust campaign, but I voted for him anyway because I dislike Davis), as opposed to a veritable forest of signs for Allen and a decent-sized glade of signs for Davis and "Vote Yes on the Anti-Gay Marriage Amendment".
More surprised to see not ONE Democratic candidate sign or anti-Anti-Gay Marriage-Amendment on the median strip along Victory Blvd, as I came home from Farm Fresh afterwards. It's a major road, and I would have thought there'd be one or two hiding among all the Republicans and Anti-Gay Marriage signs.
Now, to bed. Since sometime Sunday afternoon, Mark-chan has not slept for longer than an hour at a stretch, except for when I strapped him into his carseat for our outing this morning. x_x There were stretches Sunday and yesterday when he didn't sleep at all for SIX hours. And when he's awake, it's never ever quiet-awake. It's angry, wrathful, red-faced and arms-flailing, awake. Gah. I don't know what's wrong. I haven't touched caffiene in several days, and I haven't eaten anything spicy, so it's not something in his breastmilk. I've been feeding him everytime he acts hungry. I check his diaper regularly, and everything seems ok. He's not feverish. It's way too early for this to be teething. He's just, well, to borrow WillZ's nickname for him, acting like a little Zodling.
So, I'm going to tote him upstairs still strapped in his little chair, and take a nap in the bedroom with him next to me. I need the sleep. Badly. Here's hoping he doesn't wake up for a while.
