::faint stomach rumble::
May. 8th, 2003 12:03 pmThis is not meant as an angst post, nor an indication I'm having a bad day. I'm just irritated a bit, in the midst of what's otherwise a pretty decent day.
Half the time I can't get food down. Case in point, the miniscule amount of food I managed to eat during the otherwise marvelous four day weekend I just spent in Omaha. Tom was worried, and damned justified to be so. But I couldn't help it. -_-A significant portion of the time what I get down doesn't stay there. Case in point, losing the tasty apple juice I drank on the flight to Omaha shortly after reaching the terminal. Or the annoying as hell dry heaves I had the morning of my last day there.
When I can both get and keep food down, all I can find is:
Cottage cheese, which became my breakfast today...
Frigging english muffins and cheese... tasty, but not exactly a sound meal. It's become my lunch anyway, because the rest of what's available is worse.
A box of leftover microwavable breaded mushrooms. They're leftover because the breading turned out to be too thick and bleah-tasting to justify the mushroomy goodness within, and even the mushroomy goodness was sub-par. Even if I finished off the last four, it would hardly be a decent addition to my diet.
Leftover hardboiled Easter eggs. I may eat one in a moment, just in the interests of making sure I get some decent caloric intake. But again, not exactly something you can make an entire meal from.
Half a container of veggie dip. But no carrots. Dad must have eaten the rest of the carrots while I was gone.
Milk. Already drank a large glass.
That's pretty much it, in terms of what my cooking skills can do anything with.
::sigh::
Irritating, ne?
But at least I have a line on a job in Omaha to pursue, and I have the love of a wonderful guy. ^_^
