The FruBa post of doom shall probably have to wait until my next day off. Or til Thursday, when Dav will be taking an evening class and I'll be really bored. Live in terror of the uber-post that shall result when that happens. :D Until then, random ramblings on random LJ wanderings:

Once upon a time I found a LJ dedicated to the making of liberal-Christian icons, and duly bookmarked it in the full intention of snagging one for my very own. Between my procrastination issues and the link getting lost amid my immense labyrinth of bookmarks, never happened. Heh.

Found it again tonight while riffling through said labyrinth. Took a look at the maker of said icon's non-icon journal. (People make separate LJ accounts for the sole purpose of iconage. Ara, ara... Communities, I can grok. But entire other accts? Still boggling. I am clearly lacking in Net geekiness...)

Anyways. The lady in question, [livejournal.com profile] mhari, is a fan of Arthurian legends. Recently, she decided to supplement her knowledge by getting Mallory's Le Morte de Arthur from the library. Then she did a couple really funny posts about her reading.

[livejournal.com profile] mhari saith: "Also, a bunch of other people marry a bunch of other people at this point, namely Lot and Margawse, Nentres and Elaine, and Morgan le Fay goes to study at a convent, where she learns... necromancy. Maybe it's a Satanic convent. Morgan le Fay the Chattering Nun of St. Beryl."

As a fan of Good Omens and T.H. White's Once and Future King, I am STILL giggling madly. :D I'm also having visions of Morgan le Fay, Sister Mary Loqacious, Anathema Device, and those terribly naughty nuns from Monty Python's Holy Grail sitting around a table having a nice cuppa and gossiping.... This breaks my brain.

I need to get my hands on a copy of Le Morte myself. (Yes, I realize it won't be as amusing as her summary. I feel an urge to read something with more literary heft than manga.) I also need to dredge up my copy of Good Omens and force Dav to read it sometime. Maybe next time I'm working on a weekend and he's off.... ::plotplotplot::
