Well, this has been a busy past couple days, and yet it's been filled with long stretches of boredom.

Friday, I got a call back from K-Mart about a job I'd applied for over a week ago. To my disappointment, the HR rep clarified that it was only seasonal, and they didn't need me for full-time hours. Also... instead of cashier, as I'd hoped for, they want me to work in.... the fitting rooms. ::sigh::

Inglorious, yes. But I could sorely use the money. I hope I never find out why Drak warned me to make sure to check under the benches. ^_^;;

Popped over to the mall for a bit. Went to work at the custard stand. Jeff, my cool but demented manager, ok'ed my request for time off to attend orientation at K-Mart. We twiddled our thumbs a lot all shift. I really wish K-Mart had been fulltime, even if it weren't seasonal. ::sigh:: Business is already slow. I shudder to think how much slower it'll be later in the year.

Saturday morning I went to a memorial mass at Corpus Christi, my late uncle's parish. It was in honor of all the previous year's dead. :;sigh:: Depressing, but not as bad as the funeral was this summer. The priest, whose name escapes me, knew Uncle John personally and had a lot of anecdotes about him in the sermon. I didn't cry as I did during the funeral's sermon, but I missed my uncle a great deal. Mom and Aunt Mary got very teary-eyed.

I spent most of this afternoon puttering around the house - one of those aforementioned spells of tedium. I did head over to B&N to get a new Discworld novel, Thief of Time. It was quite good. The ones with Death and his 'family' are my favorites. The Lancre witches and the Ankh-Morpork Guard tie for second. Rincewind generally annoys the hell out of me.

Tonight's Inuyasha was really good. I can't wait til I can get the un-mangled versions on VHS or DVD, though. Happosai's English VA in Mygoa's role is a little disconcerting to say the least. The places where CN edited it for content - despite the fact Adult Swim is supposed to be for more 'mature' audiences - are less glaringly obvious than they were at first. But still.

I have to hand it to those writers... despite the fact that the froglike Thunder Brother wanted to turn Kagome into a hairtonic, I felt very bad for him at times these last two episodes. He was so pitiful at times, bemoaning his lack of ability to draw in the ladies as easily as his handsome brother does... and attributing his lack solely to his scanty head of hair... It was amusing in a pitiful way. And his evident grief was touching, in an odd way. But then he'd threaten Kagome, or make vile remarks to Shippo-chan about his need for a new fox-fur belt... And I'd be raring all over again for Inu Yasha to kill him.

I adore Shippo, from his furry ponytail to his lil feet. He's so cute you just want to snuggle him, feed him cookies, and adopt the poor lil orphaned fox-demon. He's also mischievous, funny, and fantastic at annoying Inu Yasha. :) I like Inu Yasha well enough, but he richly deserves some of what Shippo does to him. The lil guy does it with a great deal of style, too. ::wicked grin::

Not much else comes to mind at present. I'll ramble some more later.

You didn't tell me you got a LiveJournal. Wow, I guess everyone has one of these nowadays.

Anyway, Sethra chan, you really should spruce it up a bit and add some icons. ^_^ For right now, I've put you on my friends list.

It's only the first day, Dav-chan. I'll spruce it up once I've prowled around a little and found some nice icons and other goodies to do the sprucing up with.

That's the only reason I didn't tell you sooner. It _is_ rather plain right now. ^_^;;
