My blood work's all done. I do not have mono. I do not have anemia. My thyroid is in beautiful condition. In short, all my tests came back negative.
Which means Dr. Dudley is falling back on diagnosing my problems as a combo of depression, insomnia, and dehydration caused by the high altitude.
She wants to treat the depression with my current meds, as my stomach has finally grudgingly accepted them, and therapy. I finally got over my issues with phone calls to strangers/medical personnel, but am now stuck playing phone tag, as Dr. Phillips' number keeps going to voicemail. She wants to treat the insomnia with one more refill of my sleep meds, but warns me she will only do one more after this, and only if absolutely necessary, as they can be addictive and can interfere with natural sleep. I am fine with this. I don't much want to be on sleep meds anyway. She thinks that once my therapy starts going it will fix some of my sleeping problems as well as help my depression. I am dubious; it's not like I dwell on the issues I'm depressed about when I wake up at oh-dark-hundred hours. No, I'm mostly just cursing the fact I am awake again. But if it persists I'll go back and we can look at what else may be wrong.
She also gave me a litany of suggestions for overall sleep help. I'm already cutting out caffeine and most soda in favor of water and juice. I don't generally work out within the two hour period before bedtime, on the rare occasions I have time and energy and Tom available to watch the boys so I can work out. We don't have a tv in the bedroom. We don't have much light in there either when we sleep. Etc. I was already not taking the sleep meds every night, too, which she says is good.
As for the alleged dehydration, well, I'm already hydrating like crazy to combat the dizzy spells and so forth. Not much more I can do in that regard. ::shrug::
The intake nurse once again had trouble with my first blood pressure reading, but chalked it up to the cuff being too big (wtf?) and used a smaller cuff for the second attempt. That reading had better results. ::shrug:: If I *am* prehypertensive, I wish someone would get a firmer grip on it and let me know. ::sigh::
I just sent Jack to his room a little bit ago for screaming and temper-tantrumming. Mark may get a trip to his own room if he's not careful. Maybe then I can get a short nap. I've been dying for one for hours.
