State of the Zodlings and Sethra

sethrakJack's hearing test went well, in the sense that we were able to get decent readings.
But, he appears to still have fluid buildup in the right ear, which meant the doctor could not learn what responses that ear has to sound.
His left ear is now clean and clear, and shows excellent auditory response. As long as he has good hearing in at least one ear, Dr. Corliss says he is physically capable of acquiring language.
So, the next step is to contact the local groups who handle speech therapy, and get him started on that.
Dr. Corliss says that in four to six months, if he is not making progress with speech therapy, to bring him back in. Or, if he starts developing frequent ear infections, bring him back sooner.
Mark's got his initial appt. with the ABA therapy practice on Sept. 3rd. We've got everything squared away with Tricare and ECHO. No word yet on what's going on with his school. If I don't get a letter by the end of the week saying he's been reassigned to MacAuliffe and what his class and bus schedule are, I will start making phone calls.
I'd let it slide longer, as I'm really in no hurry to have him leave his old school, Henry... But MacAuliffe has a dress code bordering on uniforms. Henry didn't. I really need to know this as soon as possible.
They're both still having gastric issues, but Mark's seem to be improving a great deal.
I have nearly everything squared away for my first class at UMUC this fall. :D Just need to get an official transcript sent to them soon.
