Some of you may have heard about Yeardley Love, the University of Virginia athlete who was murdered by her ex boyfriend. Not that restraining orders do a whole lot of good if a violent person is bound and determined to attack you, but she couldn't have even gotten a restraining order if she wanted to. Virginia does not allow people who are dating/were dating to file for ROs against each other.
