The movers arrive tomorrow, so we're probably going to be incommunicado until at least January. It'll be a two day ordeal, one day for boxes, one day to get them all on the truck.
davner and I are going to take turns riding herd on the movers, and being cooped up in the boys' room with two wee zodlings and a laptop with dvds. ^_^; Tomorrow night we camp out in the apartment on air mattresses, and the night after that we check into a two-room suite at Langley TLF until the 2nd. Dav's orders won't let him leave the state until then. We'll still have cleaning and things to do before then anyway.
Christmas was really good. Mark's favorite present was the 300 ball-pit balls Dav got him. We emptied out the giant plastic tub I normally store bulk diapers in, and turned it into his own personal ball pit. ^_^ (For some reason he has it in for the yellow balls. He meticulously removes them and hides them under the playpen or in the corner by the couch before climbing in, and gets upset when Jack tries to put the yellow balls back in. he's ok with Jack removing and returning all the other colors.) Jack's favorite gift seems to be the toy PDA I got him for the car trip. It sings about the alphabet or the numbers one through ten when you press on it. ^_^ They also got a nice assortment of new clothes, some more small toys for the car trip, and a portable DVD player from Gramma Debbie.
I got Dav some slipper socks, since his regular slippers would take up a lot of room in his luggage, some candy, and pajamas. I saved the more awesome gifts for his birthday, back on the 21st. ^_^ A coffee mug from Zero Punctuation, and a plushie imp to go with it. (I am sorely tempted to steal the imp.)
Dav got me a purple down-filled coat, good quality snow boots, and a really lovely white-gold watch, in the hopes I'll start actually wearing a watch on a regular basis. My tendency to lose or forget to wear watches drives the poor man a trifle to despair at times. ^_^; I'm hanging on to this one, though. He has yet to get himself a good quality coat or boots, on the grounds that "Ah, I'll be fine, honey". I suspect this will last about as long as it takes for us to hit the Colorado state line. Or possibly the Nebraska state line - they've been getting hit pretty badly with snow too.

Poor Jack had to see the doctor this morning, for the cold and cough he's had for a few weeks. Over the weekend the cough got loud enough at night to hear upstairs, and this morning he started sneezing green rather than clear.
Dr. McCain says he has a nasty bacterial bronchial infection, and an ear infection. We have an allbuterol nebulizer for the wheezing, pseudoephedrine syrup for the congestion and green goop, and a ten day course of liquid amoxicillin for the ear infection and bacteria causing the green goop. We're allowed to travel, assuming he doesn't get worse, but we need to keep the amoxicillin refrigerated. Fortunately we already bought a small cooler for the boys' soy milk and chicken.

Date: 2009-12-28 11:15 pm (UTC)As to the snow, a lot of it will probably melt by then. As opposed to here, where we're contemplating walking and driving in tunnels for the rest of the winter. :P
