Jul. 30th, 2003 09:04 pmWell, I'm in a much better mood now.
Took a short walk around the neighborhood. I found a little park not far from the house. Nice enough, as parks go. Playground equipment that didn't look like it had been extruded all in one piece and designed by psychologists. Nope, this stuff looked like kids could have some actual fun on it. There was sand and woodchips, not that wierd spongy green stuff. There were even teetertotters. ^_^ Haven't seen those in a long time. No merry-go-round, though. I haven't seen one of those since the trip to Beaver Island, MI, and that playground looked like it hadn't gotten new equipment in decades. I sat there under a tree for a bit and just enjoyed the grass under my hands and feet. I would've stayed longer, but for some strange reason this park had no bubblers. Lots of picnic tables, and lots of freestanding grill things for picnickers to use - in an area known for high winds and dry spells in summer - but no bubblers. o_o I got thirsty and headed home.
Then I lounged under a tree near the apartment, barefoot and sprawled across the grass lazily. ^_^ That was really nice. The whole walk really helped improve my mood.
Even better was hearing Dav's voice behind me as he walked up. I sat up to put on my sandals, turned around.... and he had a warm smile and a bunch of purple chrysanthemums in one hand. I do love that man. He is not a fan of the color purple, by any means. He grumped a lot when I wanted to buy potholders with purple flowers for the kitchen. But he got them for me anyway. And he got me these flowers, for no reason at all, which is the best reason in the world.
Tasty noodle/chicken/broccoli/sauce thing for dinner tonight, with *real* french bread, fresh from the Albertson's bakery, for dinner tonight. Mmmmmmm.... And the last of the New York Cherry Cheesecake ice cream for my dessert. I wonder if Blue Bunny makes a strawberry version....

I think I'd better hike to Albertson's and get my mate some oj and aloe vera tissues tomorrow. He's coming down with something, and is taking a perverse pleasure in wondering if it might be SARS. Baka. ^_^
