Well, this explains a lot: "The DVD release of Babylon 5 has awful-looking CGI. The series was shot widescreen with the intent to letterbox it for high definition broadcasts and DVD later (though it was broadcast in 4:3 originally). The creators intended to re-render all the CGI to match the DVD's letterbox presentation, but the models for the CGI were lost, so they had to resort to cropping the standard-def graphics. As a result, there is a noticeable drop in picture quality whenever there is a CGI element on screen. " - tvtropes.org
Somewhere else, I came across the explanation for the disappearance of the giant preying mantis alien mob boss between seasons one and two - the animatronics for the character broke down irreparably. This seems a bit farfetched - couldn't they have just built a new one?
Annnndddd now I'm going to have "Expensive..." and "In HERE!!!11!" stuck in my head all night.
Maybe I can pry it loose with some Dr. Horrible's Singalong Blog soundtrack...
In the theme of 'reminding me of long-lost fragments of my childhood', I found the article on Kidd Video. Oh dear. ^_^; Glitter's legwarmers! "Run, run, you'd better run-run...." I have a suspicion that was the title band's only actual song...
Also, I learned that the missing little sister from Family Matters.... went on to enter a segment of the media industry which called for her taking on the pseudonym "Crave". x_x
Brainbleach and Dr. Horrible are definitely in order.
