No more K-Mart!

Granted, I will miss Baljit, Liz, and Gloria. But they're the only tinge of regret I feel at leaving K-mart, it's annoying corporate policies, and it's K-martian customers. Liz gave me a card and her address, so I can write to her. And I'll see Gloria during future visits.
Tomorrow's my last day at Gilles. Jill gave me her email address yesterday. She and her bf Nick are pretty good friends of mine. Tonight almost everybody at work that I talk to (willingly) was insisting that I had to bring Tom in next week so they could see him. ^_^ I'd already decided to do that, but I wasn't expecting so many of my friends to be interested in seeing him. I had to correct a number of people as to which state I'm moving to. Evidently Jeff, shift manager and chief gossip-monger, has been telling a different state to everybody he talks to about this. ^_^;; Jared was complaining about me leaving them all to move fifteen states away. o_o 15... Good God, can you be more than eight states away from anywhere unless one location's on the East Coast and the other's on the West Coast? Lots of jokes about the Wizard of Oz; lots of bad military jokes. Comments from Jared as to whether I'm going to marry Dav and have a whole passle of camouflage-clad children. ^_^;;
Lots and lots of inquiries over the last few days from people at both jobs about why we're not getting married right away. O_o I thought in this day and age people were more blase about hearing someone's planning to live with their person. At least people my age and younger. But I've been getting just as many pointed remarks about marraige from the young co-workers as from the older. I don't understand it. Yes, I want to marry him. But not _yet_.... that's the whole point of us moving in together; to see if we can stand each other under one roof sufficiently to make getting married as good an idea as our hearts want it to be. I also don't understand why a couple of them feel the need to drop hints about it being somehow wrong. ::growl:: *I* don't see anything wrong with it; nobody else has a right to tell me otherwise. Not even my parents, and thus far my parents have said nothing of the kind. So why are people who have no relation to me saying this? Stephanie B is a solid Baptist, maybe that explains her comments. But it doesn't really excuse them.
But I am not going to rant tonight. I'm too happy. In a week I'll see my Dav again. I can't wait. ::bounce::
Oh... something funny I saw on the way to work. Jeep with Nevada plates... which said "AREA51"..... ^_^
