::rubs her eyes::
Jack-jack is two and a half months old.
Isn't that supposed to still be the eat-sleep-poop-cry stage, with heavy emphasis on sleeping, since pooping and to some extent eating can be done at the same time as sleep?
::falls over:: That child has only slept for two hours since dawn. Said two hours were in his swing, and did not overlap with Mark's nap. I tried to get him to fall back asleep after Mark went down. Lord, did I try. Nursed him, bottle-fed him, cuddled him....
Nope. He wanted to play. x_x
So play we did - on Mommy's terms. I laid down with my legs propped up, and we worked on baby exercises. I held him up in a sitting position, my hands under his armpits, and he practiced holding his head up without bobbling, and reaching out. Not at anything in particular, as far as I could tell. Just reaching and grasping, and turning his head to look at things. Then I lifted him up and down gently, like a mini superhero, kissing his forehead as he came down each time. After a while he started looking confused. When confusion progressed to outright disenchantment, we switched games again. I leaned him back against my legs and let him try sitting without mommy holding him. I just kept my hands ready to catch him if he started to flop - and flop he did. It was adorable. I don't know how a little boy, holding perfectly still, and at an angle rather than sitting straight up, can manage to flop that much, but he did.
I can't complain too much, as we don't get much time for this kind of play when Mark's awake. But boy could I have used a nap.... x_x
