Aug. 4th, 2010 09:40 amToday's ever-exciting agenda:
Laundry.
Take Zodlings to the park and/or to an air-conditioned big box store for window shopping and wearing-out-of-Zodlings purposes.
There was a third item, 'do recon to my local polling place so I can find it on the 10th for the primary'. But GoogleMaps last night showed me that the church I'm supposed to vote at is so close to the North Gate that I could probably walk there, although there's a couple sidewalk-lacking stretches where pushing Jack's stroller and keeping Mark from leaping into traffic would be.... problematic.
Particularly the stretch where Platte crosses over Peterson....Absolutely no shoulder beneath that overpass at ALL. I've seen adults biking under it, and the occasional pedestrian, usually en route to a bus stop on the north side of the overpass. Never anyone with kids in tow, and I turn pale at the thought of someone mobility impaired trying to navigate that stretch.
Getting there on Voting Day by car, though, poses no trouble at all. I'll probably face more shenanigans from Mark while filling out my ballot than from physically getting there. This is the first year where I'll be taking him to a polling place without the Giant Doublestroller of Doom. (We jettisoned it when we PCSed here. It was getting rickety anyway.) Jack will be semi-contained by his little single stroller, but I'll have to keep one eye on the ballot and the other on Mark at all times.
I'm glad school will be in session before the general election. ^_^;; Jack's much more manageable than Mark, even without a stroller.
