I just wanted an excuse to use this icon. One of the few things that redeems George Lucas' soul from the travesty of the prequels is that Yoda got to show off what a badass he is when he isn't, y'know, dying of old age in a swamp and forced to endure whining apprentices.

Mark's second dental visit went pretty well.

I let him loose from his stroller while I filled out paperwork. He ran circles around the seating area, tossed his Leapfrog letters on the floor (glad I only brought two), then made a beeline for the slighted raised playing area, with its tons of giant legos, where he stayed til we were called. I kept craning my neck to check on him, and he was being quite good the entire time.

Jack got cranky, because he was hungry. I appeased him with a ba after I was done with the forms. He's getting the hang of drinking from a ba without dribbling awfully fast. Little goof. If he'd taken to nursing this well, he wouldn't have had to spend so much time in the NICU I suspect.

Mark didn't want to hold the dental assistant's hand to walk into the exam room, but he didn't scream or try to flee either. So I held his hand, and she wheeled the stroller in for me. All the hygenists cooed and admired Jack. ^____^ Mark, while we waited for the dentist to finish with his previous patient, kept running amok in the room, trying to pull the decorative plastic crabs off the wall or enter the office areas. (Entire place was decorated in tropical theme.) The d.a. tried distracting him with a toy, and even tried helping him up on a chair so he could smash the buttons of an arcade game they had. No dice. But he didn't cry, or break anything.

He did scream and struggle a fair bit when put across my lap and the dentist's, but the exam didn't take long, and he calmed down fast once it was done. His teeth are in great shape, and all the ones that should be erupted, are. We go back in February.

This suggests that you probably have a natural talent in Calvinball. You have learned that the trick to doing well in Calvinball is not brute strength, but quick wit. With your natural ability you could go far.

You are definitely already talented enough to beat Calvin. A match versus the quick-witted tiger would be close. I'm going to give you the edge, but his superior knowledge of the game might propel him to victory.

* This is a made up number.

Need to wake up the Very Small Animal and feed him. He's been asleep since we got home from the dentist. Mark's sulking in his crib. That boy really does NOT like naptime anymore.... But he's such an unsociable little beast when he doesn't get one.
