So my male friends have been warned.
Gaaaah.
Got back from my six-week post-partum checkup a couple hours ago.
I will not go into details because I'm tired as hell thanks to Mark, but GOD it was annoying. Above and beyond the normal annoyance of having a gyno checkup.
Someone in the DoD needs to brief their staff service-wide on what it means when a patient responds to the question "Are you on birth control?" with "Yes, condoms." It does NOT mean "I am relying on breastfeeding as my form of birthcontrol because I am a moron and need to be educated on how breastfeeding preventing pregnancy is an old wives' tale."
::head-desk::
I *know* breastfeeding doesn't stop me from ovulating. I know I need to use birthcontrol if I don't want to conceive a second baby before the first one is even sleeping through the night. Condoms*are* a form of birth control. They worked just fine for us until we got ready to try to conceive Marcus, thank you very much. It may be a couple percentage points less effective than hormonal bc, but it's still damned effective.
(I'll get into the rant about why they didn't like the reason we're using condoms later. Oh, and the rant about how a little leaky breastmilk doesn't mean I don't know what a breastpump is. Right now I need to eat my sushi and go take a nap - if Mark stays asleep long enough.)
