Rain. Wind. Etc. Etc.
May. 11th, 2003 09:58 pmHad an eventful trip home through the rain and wet and extreme winds. Broke my brand new umbrella before I even got on the first bus. Stupid flimsy K-Mart merchandise.... It had metal ribs and supports, unlike the cheap plastic Walgreens umbrella I already own. It was as long as the distance from my hip to the ground, not small enough to fit in my purse like my old one. It should have lasted more than fifteen minutes, damn it. At least it was cheap. Only three bucks.
Wheras the Walgreens' umbrella was around 8 bucks, and has lasted me a few years... ::mutters::
I didn't try using that one on the way home, because it kept blowing inside out on the way to work. You know the weather's bleah when seeing with your rained-on glasses is comparable to seeing without any glasses at all. ^_^; The route 60 took forever to arrive. The route 21 never did. I finally gave up the effort and called Dad to get home the rest of the way.
I'm proud that I managed to get Mom's gift and card all the way home dry and undamged. ^_^ V It was a dicy thing, before Dad and the Green Beast showed up.
The best part of the day was getting home, and getting out of my soggy shoes, curling up in my fuzzy robe with a glass of strawberry wine, and calling my Tom. ::purrs low in her throat::
God I miss you, you rotten, no-good, handsome, loving, rephrensible, wonderful Floridian, you.
Music: That Jimmy Buffet song about the weather girl with the perfect weather curl - what the hell's it called, anata?
