sethrakOn Super Tuesday: Doesn't apply to me; VA's primary is Feb. 12th. I will say that Obama's campaign seems pretty confident about how he will do today - we've had several Obama commercials on local tv this past week, all reminding us that our primary is the twelveth and please vote for him then. Aside from this interesting note, not really caring about the news coverage until they have something like concrete results to report.
Note to local and national news media: if the number of precincts reporting is in the single digits, you don't have anything interesting to report yet. You most certainly don't have grounds to toss about phrases like "So-and-so has momentum" or "We're calling the race for So-and-so", as you have done in previous years. Kindly act like real journalists this year.
On domesticity: I swear to Kami-sama, Belldandy *must* have have some kind of experience as posited in![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
davner's fic Wrath. I've spent an hour puttering around the kitchen doing various domestic tasks, much like Belldandy does every single day, and I cannot for the life of me understand how she finds this sort of thing so terribly fullfilling and downright fun. (Yes, I know, she's fictional. Stop wondering how Joel ate and breathed, Sethra-chan.) I don't particularly mind doing the chores, since my family needs taking care of, and as a SAHM I have more free time (theoretically) to do these things. I just totally fail to grok the mindset that enjoys this. ::boggle::
On Mark's progress: There's plenty to relate, but I've got more stuff to finish before he wakes up from his nap. Short version is, he's having his first dental appt. on the 20th. There was an odd black mark on his gums, which when brushed oozed brown and then reddish fluid, that had me concerned. Dav's internet search told us it was probably just a bruise on the gums produced by Mark teething too hard on an object on that side. It also told us that the first recommended dental appt. should take place six months after the first tooth emerges. ^_^; So, dental appt for the boy. That'll be.... interesting...
And for me too. I haven't been to a dentist since I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted back in Omaha. That was .... close to four years ago... Hai, hai, I'm terrible. The wisdom teeth episode was sufficiently awful that I've spent the last few springs coming up with increasingly lame excuses why I shouldn't get a checkup. Dav took the opportunity of Mark's appt. to lovingly badger me into getting my own teeth looked at. >_< Gah. *My* appt. is on Valentine's Day. Dav is taking the day off so he can watch Mark for me, and the office happens to be in walking distance. Please, God, maybe there mot be anything seriously wrong with my teeth this time...
Got to do laundry. Later.
