Zodling allergy update
Jan. 24th, 2008 04:32 pmDr. Morales just called. Mark's test results are in.
He is severely allergic to three foods: cow's milk, eggs, and peanuts. We are to avoid, repeat AVOID, all three. I specifically asked about wheat; she said there's a small reaction on the test, but it's low enough we can experiment with giving him stuff with wheat and see if it worsens his eczema or not.
He is severely allergic to three environmental triggers: Cats, dogs, and dust.
Great. I'm going to have to start vacuuming daily and try to keep the HVAC unit dust free too. Ah well. It's for our boy, so it's worth it.
She's going to send me the hardcopy of the test results in the mail, and some other things to read about his allergies and the epi-pen. She wants us to give him the liquid allergy medicine every day, because of the environmental triggers. She gave us six refills, so that'll last us a while.
Well, now we know. :resists urge to make GI Joe comment:: My poor boy. ::sigh:: At least we don't have to worry about wheat anymore; it's *hard* to find stuff that's wheat *and* milk *and* egg -free. The one-two punch of milk and eggs is bad enough.
