Soooo.... Yesterday after church I stopped by the commissary to indulge in what's likely to be my last taste of sushi until sometime this summer. :D
Why?
The home pregnancy test I took on Saturday was positive. Squee!
Yep, Zodling Version 2 is on the way. We're very excited. My mil and I are hoping it's a girl.
davner wwould like a girl, but also wants a boy, to add to his officer cadre when he conquers the world. (You really don't want to know what he said when I asked why another girl wouldn't count as part of an officer cadre. The second it came out of his mouth, even he said it was a bad comment. This is the same guy who, along with a black female lt. at his old office, instituted a tradition of Racist/Offensive Comment of the Day.)
According to the March of Dimes website, I should be due in mid-July. We're tossing around baby names. First name for a girl is still Cordelia, as it has been since I lent Dav my copy of Lois McMaster Bujold's Cordelia's Honor when we were dating. Middle name for a girl's up in the air, but we're discussing Marie or Lynn right now. Boy names are trickier. I tossed out Jacob, just because I like the sound. Dav's first response was "Can we call him Jack, then?" I love my nerdboy husband. Middle name for a boy may be Thaddeus; it's a traditional name on my mil's side. I wouldn't choose it as a first name, but as a middle name it could work well.
Going to the base hospital later this week to get the blood test done. Then I get the joy of calling Tricare and badgering them into giving me a first prenatal care appt. in something resembling a reasonable timeframe. With Mark, they insisted there was no room anywhere in the schedule until my first trimester was practically over. Then one of the first things out of my care provider's mouth was "So why didn't you come get prenatal care sooner?" Grrrrr. I explained; she was appalled; life went on.
Eeeeee......! Twice the baby-cuddles! Twice the attempts to eat Mommy's hair. (Ok, not a source of "eee..") Twice the cuteness!
Yep, we're very happy.
