Basically, a Saudi lawyer who represented a raped woman - sentenced to 90 lashes for having been raped - is getting jail time and possible disbarrment for speaking to Saudi media about the case. His client's sentence has been increased to 200 lashes and six months in jail, also because she spoke to the media.

Someone remind me why this country is on our list of GWOT best friends?

I somehow doubt the environmental concerns are what's stopping the Arab world from sneaking one into San Diego. And after two combat drops and who knows how many tests in the U.S., USSR and the Bikini Atoll, the world is still warm, so I'm not about to get my panties twisted about dropping a few nukes on richly deserving countries that export terrorism to every corner of the world.
