Dec. 20th, 2005 02:35 pmOn a search for the Christmas tree lights, unseen since last December, I've had occasion to root through boxes untouched since we moved to VA in April.
I swear to kami-sama, next time we PCS within CONUS, we're doing a DIY move, not using the military-provided movers, except for the heavy furniture.
In one box, tossed together with my Stitch plushie, assorted letters to and from Dav before we started dating, and a few cheap plastic dolphin figureines, I found my Ryoko figurine, by McFarlane Toys. My glee was shortlived, however, for her plastic energy sword was snapped off at the hilt. >_< God damn it. A little basic care would have prevented that. The rest of the sword's somewhere in the box, but I'm not sure how easy it'll be to glue back together. Damn, damn, damn...
The next box down, contained some bulky shapes ever-so carefully wrapped in white packing paper, like our dishes had been by these same movers.
The contents? A plush bunny wearing a flower-bedecked bonnet. A small yellow chick that cheeps when squeezed. A basket with red artificial roses. And, under a few more assorted Easter items, one of our long-lost Pyrex glass baking dishes. ::head desk:: WTF were those items doing together??? And why, in God's name, did they wrap the plushies but not my easily broken figurine!
No luck yet finding the Christmas lights, though. These movers had a tendency to label a box "Stuffed animals" when it only contained three plushies and a bunch of, say,
davner's office papers. Or "Christmas" when the major contents were in fact my stuffed animals. Or Dav's "Sords".... ::cough::
