Ahhh, carbonated beverages. The source of, and solution to, all life's problems....
New episode of Stargate comes on in about fifteen minutes. Not sure if I'll bother going downstairs to watch it. ::sigh:: The first couple episodes of this season have been disappointing to say the least. It appears they're keeping Vala-the-Plot Device-and-Blatant Pander to Farscape's Fanbase, aka Intergalactic Skank Ho, aka my most favorite character to hate since![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
davner created Mutsumi the Turtle Queen of the Forest, for the rest of the season. Bastards. I admit I'm a bit of a tv-Daniel fangirl (though not as much as I am a movie-Daniel fangirl) but this isn't why I hate Vala. Honest. I liked his wife Shar're. Tv-Shar're looked a bit... old... compared to the fresh-faced young lass that played movie-Shar're, but as a character, I liked her. I don't have a problem with Daniel having a love interest. I have a problem with the writers foisting one on him in order to gank ratings from sci fi fans who used to watch Farscape in droves. A "love interest" whose attitude towards male-female interactions is precisely the sort of thing that gives anti-feminist males something to parody. A "love interest" that he clearly doesn't like, and who is foisted upon Stargate Command by a completely lame plot device. A "love interest" with the scariest teeth since Nancy Kerrigan or the CGI work Peter Jackson had done for the Mouth of Sauron.
I mean, come on.
Vala: "Let's get married and MAKE BABIES!!!!" ::scary as hell baring of all teeth meant as a smile::
Daniel: ::convulsive shudder and turns away::
Can even the fans of this woman's old character from Farscape approve of this?
I don't dare venture near the fan websites. I'm afraid of what I may find out. x_x
Atlantis is looking only marginally better. Shame, because the season was starting to shape up really well.
Galactica is the only really GOOD show on Sci Fi Channel's Friday block this season. We so need to get a DVR from Cox so's I don't have to stay up so frelling late to watch it. (Dav, don't you dare laugh at me for using Galactica swear words, I swear... :p )
