sethrakA few days ago, we saw a commercial for The Last Airbender for the first time.
Dav: Wait. Wait. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan?
Me: Yep.
Dav: M. Night. Shyamalan. Really.
Me: Yeah.... ::discourses into a short description of fandom's outrage, both re: racefail and re: adaptationfail, which goes largely unheard, as he's too busy boggling::
Dav: ::even more incredulously:: M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN?! Really?!?! That's.... that's.... that's like Kosuke Fujishima directing a Predator movie!
Me: ::breaks off racefail rant to die laughing at this analogy::
Dav: ::starts in on a totally demented and perfectly Davner-esque parody of Ah! My Predator! It involved a predator in a ponytail ordering a hapless wish recipient to wish for someone's spine to be ripped out::
Not in the fandom, not planning on seeing it even if I were. But Unfunny Business has a pretty good collection of review links if you feel like a sweet slice of schadenfreude pie.
