Ida remnants/Nor'easter

Thus far I've gotten one live call from Mark's school, canceling afternoon pre-k classes, and three robo-calls, one from his school and two from the district, notifying parents that regular classes and morning pre-k are dismissing early, and afternoon pre-k and after school activities are canceled.

NNPS is definitely on their game. I was going to call the school and inform them I was keeping Mark home anyway. It's just plain awful out there, and while we aren't as prone to tidal flooding as Norfolk and Virginia Beach, there's enough low-lying areas around here I'd be nervous about getting stuck by encroaching water.

We're hunkering down with our well-stocked larder til this passes, and I'm watching the news carefully.
